Each night in August and September these birds roost in the chimney at Chapman School in NW Portland. It's quite a sight to see them all swirl around and fly into the chimney like water going down a drain!

The Boston.com news site has a great section where they communicate topics with giant pictures! I find it to be inspiring and a welcome departure from other news sites that force me to read lots of words.

While it was cloudy in Portland, we lucked out and had sunshine and warm weather at the beach! The water was still freezing cold. I hadn't been to Seaside in a long time and found it to be beautiful and very popular. There were lots of people enjoying the sun, food, and shops. It was certainly more fun than Canon Beach where we went last year.
I like reading the news in pictures. It seems more real.
